Interior Design Trends to Look Out For in 2023

There’s a continuous ebb and flow of trends when it comes to interior design. Primarily, people love what they love. However, you’ll often find that following trends gives you a constant fresh feel within your home and keeps you excited. Here are some of the trends that you’ll find taking over the industry throughout 2023.

Heritage Tiling

Whilst things have been stripped back to a more neutral, unelaborated style in recent years, the aesthetic of archived patterns is growing in popularity.

Be it reclaimed or inspired by vintage roots, heavily decorative heritage tiles are tipped to be a popular choice in bathrooms. The space can remain balanced by using these tiles on one particular wall or pairing with single-colour tiles.

Hidden Home Offices

Working from home has propelled since 2020 and taking the time to curate a space that allows you to simultaneously focus and remain comfortable is increasingly important. Standing desks have grown in popularity this year, with many investing in under desk treadmills to get those all-important steps in.

This upcoming trend allows us to separate business from pleasure within the confines of the same space by disguising work from home stations - whether it be a folding desk or hiding your office space within an old-school drinks’ cabinet.

Wicker Furniture

Sustainability is on the top of the priority list when it comes to interior design, and wickerwork is one resource that allows us to maintain aesthetic pleasure and functionality whilst protecting the planet.

Particularly useful for outdoor furniture, wicker can be used beautifully for seating, surfaces and even décor pieces. You’re likely to see a resurgence of natural rattan, reeds, and certain bark material through 2023.

Red Earth Ceramics

White ceramics are a common occurrence in designs of today, particularly given the popularity of neutral design styles. Adding some warmth into the space, a new wave of red/brown ceramics will give an earthy feel whilst retaining a classy, stylish and contemporary look.

Most of these ceramics will be unglazed to evoke a sense of avant-garde, with some subtle curving. Of course, they’ll pair perfectly with the rising popularity of paprika tones in 2023!
