3 Trends to Look Out For in 2023

Now we’ve moved into a new year, there are plenty of trends that will be thrown around to try and keep up with. Like every individual, every interior is unique; it’s your personal space, developed with the sole intention to reflect who you are and make you feel safe and comfortable. Trends can be either infuriating or inspiring, depending on how often you choose to change up your space or how ‘on-trend’ you wish to be. If you are someone who loves to follow trends and keep your space looking fresh, or even if you’re just looking for some inspiration for a new year rejuvenation, here are three trends to look out for!

Muted Colours

We forecasted that Paprika would be a hot colour trend this year, adding some spice to your colour schemes. Whilst paprika is on the brighter side, the terracotta undertones marry in with the predicted trend of muted colours as we move through 2023. Neutral, cosy schemes are popular at the moment, and adding in some muted tones of plums and mustards add a playful pop without being overwhelming.

If you’re not keen on adding these colours to your home through paint or wallpaper, try including them through decorative elements like cushions, vases, flowers and throws.

Statement Lamps

We love a lamp here at Alina Interiors! There are so many uses for lamps from diffusing light and creating symmetry to being a decorative element. Larger lampshades give the effect of opulence and add an artsy feel to a space without the need to fork out for a range of decorative pieces, whilst smaller lamps provide a cosy, warm feel perfect for a more enclosed space.

Here are some statement lamps we are loving at the moment:

Warm Woods

As the movement towards a more sustainable lifestyle continues to rise, we’re all looking at how we can become more eco-friendly in all areas - including our design choices. Warm woods are predicted to increase in popularity this year, which is great news for such sustainability. Not only will they keep you feeling conscious, but they’ll add a sense of comfort and give your space a real homey feel.

Reclaimed woods are a great place to start if you’re going for a full renovation, or upcycle old furniture from charity shops or even family members! If you’re looking for a new wooden piece for that sense of freshness that will last a lifetime, here are some of our current favourites:
